About Hack United
Hack United is a teen-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers students globally through inclusive, accessible, and high-impact tech opportunities. Since our founding, we've helped thousands of young hackers build, learn, and launch. We're currently preparing for United Hacks V5 – the fifth iteration of our flagship international hackathon. We are aiming to reach 1000+ participants for this hackathon.
We are revamping Hack United with a new website, new jobs, and a relaunch video in the coming week. We need someone who is dialed in to help make this launch smooth & successful.
The Role
Role Overview
We're looking for someone to join our leadership team as the Executive Right-Hand – a position built for someone who's ready to go all-in. You'll work directly with the founder and other executives, and lead operations, communications, and execution across our organization. This is not your typical role. We're looking for someone who thinks fast, moves faster, and thrives in high-energy, high-impact environments.
What You'll Do
- Be the founder's go-to partner – handle day-to-day execution, strategy, and coordination across teams.
- Convert voice memos, messages, or notes into completed action items without skipping a beat.
- Lead and manage operational initiatives tied to United Hacks V5, marketing, sponsor outreach, team communication, and more.
- Help shape and execute major organizational decisions.
- Support and scale new ideas from zero to launch – often on tight timelines.
What We're Looking For
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Works harder than the founder – seriously.
- Is the most dedicated and dependable applicant we meet.
- Has strong familiarity with the internet, productivity tools, and AI assistants like ChatGPT.
- Is a proactive problem-solver who doesn't wait to be told what to do.
- Can handle fast voice messages and turn them into executed tasks before the shower ends (yes, really).
- Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives on responsibility.
Bonus Points If You
- Have experience managing or scaling student-led organizations.
- Have participated in or organized hackathons.
- Are comfortable with tools like Notion, Discord, Google Workspace, and Devpost.
- Are funny (great for team chemistry).
